Hi all,
I am new to this board.
I am having lipomas(10-15).
Recently I tested my blood cholesterol and was shocked to know that I am having a total cholesterol of 257/hdl of 37/ldl of 170/triglycerides of 251.
I am 37years Male, who is a vegetarian who does not smoke or drink alcohol.
My BMI is 27.
My doubt is whether these are normal levels for people with multiple lipoma?
Is there something I can do? Presently planning for diet control and weight reduction.

What is the link between lipoma and high cholesterol?

Regards
Sreekanth

Hi Rajansreek

you have mentioned a capital on which I have just started to work out if there is any connection between Cholesterol and LT. I have studied several articles about this chapter, particular the fat which can block blood vessels. Also I have contacted several people to help me to find an answer causes the irritation of growing bad cells for LT the same as having the problem with fat in the blood vessels.
Now for you and any other people with the same problem, here are charts of all four important issues:

Total cholesterol:
Less than 200 mg/dl: desirable
200-239 mg/dl: borderline high risk
240 and over high risk
----------
HDL
Less than 40 mg/dl (men) &
less than 50 mg/dl (woman) increased risk of heart disease
Greater than 60 mg/dl: some protection against heart disease
----------

LDL
less than 100 mg/dl: optimal
100-129 mg/dl: near optimal /above optimal
130-159 mg/dl: borderline high
160-189 mg/dl: high
190 mg/dl: very high
-----------

Triglyceride:
Less than 150 mg/dl: normal
150-199 mg/dl: borderline to high
200-499 mg/dl high
above 500 high
NOTICE: The reference values and the measured values can differ greatly from laboratory to laboratory. Furthermore, there may be strong diurnal and seasonal variations without clinical significance. Before you be confused by different results, you should ask your doctor to explain your personal figures.
General: Individual laboratory values alone are also mostly not significant.
Statement Prof. Dr. P. Luppa University Munich
I have read this comment not for the first time; suggestion repeat your test in the same laboratory in several months

Hi Lawrence, your values seems to correlate with mine. Also my liver ALAT (Alanine transaminase (ALT)) was elevated.

I am 27 with multiple lipomas and had my cholesterol checked last year and it was high. I can't remember the numbers, but will be tested again in a month. I can definitely see everyone here with the same problem, there may be a connection with lipoma!
