Dog Lipoma

Lipomas in pets (dogs, cats or any animals). Which animals have them? At which age did they appear? Where were lipomas located at? What did you do?

Dog Lipoma

I was hoping you may know of something for my dogs lipomas. I just adopted her ignorant of fatty lumps and she is too old to have surgery. Raw diet isn't a possibility b/c i only have minimal use of a kitchen. Any ideas.

Hi there!

I moved your question in to this thread since your question is about dogs lipomas.

I have the impression that curcumin might work for dogs. I just recently posted about the fact that curcumin is poorly absorbed by humans but more efficiently by animals. Some vetenerians actually suggest adding curcumin to dogs diets to treat lipomas.

Check out lipomas in animals and how lipomas could be treated with curcumin.

I'm not sure whether a raw diet would help though. It might but I have no knowlidge about it. Some claim to have had good results with water fasting but I wouldn't do that to an animal.

Some vetenerians are also familiar with different kinds of injections like deoxycholate and steroids which might help to shrink the tumor.

But read about curcumin. That's something pretty easy and worth considering about.

I like to surf around and sometimes I confront something interesting.

This video shows how a lipoma biopsy is taken from a dog. The process is pretty much the same with humans:

Again, for some reason this vet recommends certain kind of diet to help facilitate lipomas. He says that dogs with lipomas may benefit from less dry food, diluted dry food, canned food, or homemade food with less calories.
