New Here, been lurking for some time

Each user can write down what they already tried and what they are currently trying. This is like a glossary for others to go to, look at and make their own inferences. For example if someone is curious about certain supplement he/she can come here and see if it has been already tried and what results it brings. Information should be in a clear fashion (see rules inside).

Hello Matt, Greetings to everyone.
I stumbled upon this site when I was searching for treatments for lipoma. I've been lurking for some time, and I honestly appreciate your efforts to keep this going. Even it's not giving results for everyone, it gives hope, and hope promotes all the actions we need to take in our struggle with this ugly disease.

About me: I am 29, Caucasian, O+ blood type, Mesomorph body type. I currently "own" around 20 lumps, of which 5 are 1 inch (around 2 cm). I rarely drink alcohol (maybe once in 2 months), and had a healty life till now, routinely exercising and running. From normal diet 2 yrs ago, I started a semi vegetarian diet (with meat once per week, or less) heaving from time to time light cheese and eggs also.

Lipoma history : started some 5 years ago to find small lumps. Nowadays I keep finding new ones, and the old ones kee growing. They are hard, rubbery type. No pain at all, unless I apply pressure, like a hit. As I know there is no inheritance in my family related to lipomas.

I presume that the cause for my lipomas is the root canal obturation, and till now I have done 3 of them. Some days ago, my dentist discovered that I have an abscess(bacterial infection) in my maxillary. He said it can be years old, as I have no pain from it. That made me think more about my lipomas, and I want to undergo a real treatment.

Treatment history - almost none. I considered myself pretty healthy, and hoped(now for much too long) that is just an unbalance, and they will disappear.
I started a general treatment with: Fish Liver Oil from GNC ,Alfa -Alfa leaf concentrate (http://goo.gl/bNqd24 ) and One a day kind Vitamins (Dynamisan from Novartis). I am on board with this since one month, of course with no visible results.

Thank you guys for being here, hope get some knowledge and some relief.

Kind Regards.
AMR

Welcome.

Research says there is a defect in the genes that causes these lipomas.

The lipomas are usually encapsulated.
Think about that. diet, etc isn't going to make them go away.
Diet can make them a bit worse, but it doesn't cause them.

Watch some of the videos of surgery so you can see what lipomas look like.

The lipomas are easier to remove when they are small.

When they get bigger (often they will) they can get into or under the muscle tissue or just get more involved.

The bigger the lipoma the bigger the scar.

Some cosmetic surgeons have developed a technique that uses a small incision (smaller than the diameter of the lipoma) and squeeze the lipoma out. Better looking results.

Anyway, good luck. When I get enough money saved up I'm getting some surgery.

I'm in my 50s and have probably at least 100 lipomas. If I could have paid for it, I would have gotten alot of those removed by now.
Had "fatty" lipomas for 30 years, since I was 20. They are in my arms, thighs, knees & few in calves. My brother has them. Neither my parents or sisters had them. I'm in US.

Thank you Laura for your insight. Even though I did not take any treatment, or major action to counter my multiple lipoma growth, I am quite documented. I agree with your statement that the cause of lipoamas is genetic, but I am thinking that genetic is only a predisposition, and a bacterial(or fungi) infection in the body can be the cause, as the liver is flushing this toxins without killing them 100% and body is just storing these toxins in fat tissue, in order to not have any effect.

I do not understand why do you say that a diet can worsen them. I am on may way to begin a Atkins diet, and follow it for for than a month. I hope I can post here, after the said month one of 3 Scenarios:
A)Other liopomas did not appear, and growth of actual ones stagnated
B)Actual lipomas decreased in Size and are softer, etc.
C) Actual lipomas diapered, or at least they cannot be identified beneath the skin.

Also, your point on surgery is quite blunt, but this is an effective way to get the rid of them, but not treating the cause. I will get a quote, in a month or so for a plastic surgery. I live in Romania, and currently traveling in Middle East, and I do not know what level of support I can get.

I am sorry to see that money is standing between you and your goal.I wish you all the best.

About diet and lipomas.

I should have said that so far no one has proven that diet can eliminate or shrink lipomas.

There is the hope that different types of diet might retard the growth of lipomas and or reduce the number of new lipomas formed.

But diet won't make lipomas go away.

We all hope for non surgical treatments and even a cure.

If you get time, check out these two different videos on lipoma removal with what seem to be really good technique.

VIDEO: Scarless Lipoma removed from chest wall under 5 min by doctor in Egypt
NY Plastic Surgeon Explains Lipoma Removal
Dr Antell NYC Plastic Surgeon describes technique where incision is smaller in diameter than lipoma, and lipoma is squeezed out.
Less scarring, takes less time.
Also there are alot of cosmetic surgeons in India who seem to be able to do the job affordably and efficiently

Hi Everyone,

Im sandeep 27 old from Hyderabad, India. Like most of you here im suffering from multilr as well i have about 40 through out my body they started with my left arm when i was 18 yrs. Im a regular visitor of this site and tried almost every treatment many have posted, and am still trying visited ayurvedic and homeo doctos in india. Im about to get married so cant afford lipoma now.

What finally worked for me was a surgery in chennai plastic surgery at chennai, india. i always backed off from that option due to fear of scars and lipoma revival with more intensity. However i took the step. I must say im damn impressed with their work. its like i got my life once again. my lipoma were at a lemon size and two were almost at golf ball size. it was scary. the removed with sqeezing technique post surgery scars are like a insect bite nothing more. doctor karthik handled me. he is a cosmetic surgeon

you can look in youtube for chennai plastic surgery and lipoma removal. it cost be about 70,000 INR for cleaning my arms.

Althought im pimping for him, what i say is true. do ur own research and proceed. please do ask if u have any more doubts, i wish to help other ppl who suffer so im writhing up here.

my lipoma didnt revive after surgey, its almost a year now. Contact them for all the befor and after pics they dealth with some much more serious cases of lipoma.

Thanks,
sandeep
