Zinc and lipomas
I do think that there is definitely some connection with zinc and lipoma formation. The beginning of the growth of my lipomas, which is when growth was the fastest, was when I was taking heavy zinc supplementation to help with my immune system. I do not take the supplements now, but I do take a multivitamin with minimal zinc, as the body does need some zinc.
I'm posting this because I'm wondering if all forms of zinc has the same effect on lipoma formation. I currently had some lipomas removed, and I've been putting some Neosporin on the wounds, which I noticed has a form of zinc (I can't remember what it is off the top of my head and I'm too lazy to walk to the bathroom) as one of its key ingredients since zinc helps with wound healing. Am I making a big mistake using this?

Re: Zinc and lipomas
Hi ryan!
I myself have no more info about zinc and lipomas except what has already been discussed. There are actually two existing threads which mention the zinc connection.
1) Limit your zinc
2) Heavy metal poisoning
They both have quoted posts from the old lipoma forum which are posted buy someone who sounds pretty skilled. I'm not sure though but I wonder if all this zinc and lipoma talk originates from there?
The quoted posts are quite technical and difficult to read if you are not familiar with cell level biology. I have no reason to doubt the contents and there might be something behind this information.
I at least do not eat any extra zinc - just in case.
Do you ryan have some other sources for the connection between zinc and lipomas or do you base your ideas on the above threads?

Hi I'm Matt - the creator and owner of this site. I have dozens of small nasty lipomas all over. I've tried many treatments including surgery and Lipostabil injections. Nope. Besides my personal experience, I've only seen what you've seen.
Re: Zinc and lipomas
I do not really guess that it has some effects on it but you should have some ideas about it from the related person i mean if someone suggested you to have it than its cool otherwise it is necessary for you to have them according to the advice of your doctor.
Secondly zinc is a very important substance i am not sure whether on this stage how do you need it.

Re: Zinc and lipomas
I know this is an old post - but I just stumbled across it after years of searching for some connection.
I can 100% attribute the growth on my face to Zinc supplementation. I ordered some Zinc Picolinate capsules which were quite a high dose - and took one on an empty stomach. It does say to make sure you take on a full stomach, but i'd never had problems with supplements in the morning before so just went ahead. Within 2 minutes I had massive palpitations and nausea... it went away after 10 minutes but I knew something wasn't right. Within a day I began to feel a hard lump forming deep under the skin, and in less than a week it gradually grew and expanded to the surface. It sat there for weeks and wouldn't go so in my desperation I pricked it with a pin - but absolutely nothing came out. This was when I realised it wasn't acne. It then got seriously infected (grew 3x the size and went purple - about the size of half a golf ball), and I only rid myself of the infection with 3 months of Amoxycillin which has now ruined me in other ways (anxiety, autoimmunity, ibs etc).
All I could find online was a link between Zinc ---> Testosterone ---> Tumours, but I suspect it could have been massive zinc toxicity instead? The lump - almost sac like - still sits on my cheek to this day... I have tried countless topical treatments with no avail, and so either i'm left with this unsightly raised pinkish area for life, or I spend $1500~ getting the lump removed by a surgeon, which may just leave a scar that looks even worse than the lump. That Zinc (50mg?) ruined my life.
