Symptomatic cardiac lipoma??

Hi everyone,

I have multiple lipomas approx. 60 (front and back of both thighs, both forearms, around my biceps and in my neck and buttocks).

Last Saturday I was rushed by ambulance to hospital due to sudden onset chest pains radiating out to my left arm/shoulder and jaw line. I had 6 ecg's and 2 blood tests which all showed no issue with my heart.

Even though the pain is not what is was at it's height on Saturday evening it hasn't gone away since. At various times over the last 10 years when I have been having problematic subcutaneous lipomas removed I was told that lipomas can actually appear anywhere in the body and most wouldn't ever be known about unless they started compressing organs/nerves etc.

I just wanted to see if anyone else had experienced anything like this be it the heart or any other organ?

Just an update on my situation. Due to continuing discomfort in both my chest and now from below my rib cage in my back, I went back to my GP. They referred me for a scan.

I underwent a CT scan with contrast last Friday 20/4/18 from Thorax down to abdomen.

I will let you if I hear anything of importance.

On one other note I have had a marked increase in the number of new lipomas in the following regions - front of abdomen, rear of abdomen (below the rib cage) and along my spine.

Has anyone else ever noticed a change in the areas' where their lipomas grow?

I have noticed a change. They started growing only on certain areas (thighs and triceps) but years later I found them from my back, chest, stomach and even neck... So I guess the older you get the more locations they can emerge. But to let any newcomers to know - I have been able to drastically slow down the growth of the existing ones and also the rate of new ones has slowed down.

Hi Matt / everyone.

My scan turned out negative for intracardiac lipoma. I still have pains but nowhere near as bad as it was at first.

Matt thank you for sharing your experiences and for letting me know that the sites of your lipomas have increased as you have become older. With the ones in and around your stomach / lower back do they cause any pain due to pressure on internal organs? I have been getting lots of pain coming from the lipomas in both rear flanks, it feels like as they grow they are squeezing the space that my abdominal organs (kidneys etc) have.

I don't know if I have put this on another one of my posts but during a routine dental appointment earlier this year my dentist noticed a small lipoma in the roof of my mouth (soft palette). He took a photo of it as it is bright yellow due to how thin the skin in the roof of the mouth is.
