Lipoma shrunk!
Hi there-
I started having lipoma's in my latter 30's. I had a goose egg lump in my lower back that was growing and eventually it was causing so much pain that the slightest movements and bending was nearly impossible. I went to the doc and he said we better get that out so he removed it in his office with lidocaine and it ended up taking two bottles of it and it had what he called feeders that went out to 6 other smaller ones and he said they were attached to nerves, tissue etc. So he took out all 7. Some have started regrowing in lower back but not to that extent. I went on the HCG diet and lost 32 lbs within 6 weeks. I hen regained the weight back as fast as I lost it plus I rapidly put on a lot of lipomas and it has been a nightmare since. The lipomas are in upper legs, hips, abdomen, complete arms, upper shoulders-horribly, and along lower rib cage area. ANYways to get to the point that I am excited about is that I had another large lipoma in my right shoulder blade area. It got so painful to even wear a bra and it would get caught up on muscles and I would have to manuever my arm to get it unstuck. I had heard of injecting a lipoma with a steroid injection (can't remember the name of the med my doctor used but will find out the name of it and put on here. The lipoma is so drastically shrunk that I am not sure if it is there anymore or not. I do not have any pain from that area anymore. I would so do this instead of surgery any day ever! I have also cut out all MSG, pop, diet drinks, diet sweetners exept Stevia and doing the clean eating and my pain levels have decreased to almost nothing!!! It works! I have been able to cut down drastically on my Neurontin and Tramadol- (may be able to stop taking soon!) Like I said I will find out the name and let you all know. Btw my daughter (24yoa) and son (32yoa) both are growing these lipomas too. I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia & Dercums. I will post soon the name of med! Thank you. Deb

Re: Lipoma shrunk!
Hi! Thanks for posting!
So you say the steroid injection actually caused your lipoma to shrunk? Please do find out the active ingredient in the injection! I'lll move your topic to Treatments and cures.

Hi,all!
my body around lots of lipoma, and like you. You used a lot of ways, I am more interested in those: (1)I heard that you recently experimental Triphala test, what is the effect ?As long as not make new lipoma or lipoma reduction are considered effective treatment methods.(2) Which brand you use the Triphala, how to use it?

Re: Lipoma shrunk!
Thanks for posting Deb and we're looking forward to the name of the steroid to do some research and maybe even try it : )
Do you plan to make more injections of it in other lipomas too?
Also how much did 1 injection cost and did the doc mention any possible side effects?

Re: Lipoma shrunk!
Was it by any chance something called Cortisone (or Celestone)? Or a mixture of lidocaine (Xylocaine) and triamcinolone acetonide (Kenalog)? Everybody's talking about how "steroid" injections can prove effective in shrinking lipomas but none bothers to specify which steroids. These are all I could find with a quick search
also take a look at this:
"Corticosteroids are a class of medications that are related to cortisone, a steroid. Medications of this class powerfully reduce inflammation. They are used to reduce the inflammation caused by a variety of diseases. Cortisone is one type of corticosteroid.
Corticosteroids can be taken by mouth, inhaled, applied to the skin, given intravenously (into a vein), or injected into the tissues of the body. Examples of corticosteroids include prednisone and prednisolone (given by mouth), methylprednisolone sodium succinate injection (Solu-Medrol) (given intravenously), as well as triamcinolone, Kenalog, Celestone, methylprednisolone (Depo-Medrol), and others (given by injection into body tissues)."
