There's a
Norwegian study done in 1987 by
Dr. Helge Stormorken entitled
Liposis dolorosa. Its own entity or the common denominator for other lipoma-based diseases?
Liposis dolorosa is a synonym for Adiposis Dolorosa (the scientific name for Dercum's disease).
Unfortunally there wasn't even an abstract to be found for this study. I checked whether I could get in contact with Dr. Stormorken but I believe his now almost 90 years old and I'm not sure if he reads his emails?
I wish I could read it!
I do believe all lipoma related conditions do share at least something in common and we can cross learn between the different conditions.

Only a few years after this article was written much was discovered about lipomatosis. This article is completely obsolete in my view. In my opinion, it shows how much more we know now than back then.
