Dr. Karen Herbst has investigated the condition for quite some time now. Although she doesn't provide a simple cure she knows a lot about the subject.

Her homepage: http://www.lipomadoc.org

She doesn't provide a lot of information on her site, though. She speaks a lot about breathing and I'm not upto believing this would help too much...

Hi there,

The deep breathing that Dr. Herbst talks about is certainly helpful. This is my layman's understanding of why: There is a major vessel in the body called the Thoracic Duct. It is the main channel for moving lymphatic fluid back out of the lower extremities up to the upperbody where it gets recirculated. The muscular movements of the diaphragm in essence massage the duct and move the fluid along. Muscular movements are the only way the lymphatic fluid moves. Shallow breathing does not create that strong pumping needed to fight the gravity.

I know that it sounds simplistic to tell someone to breathe deeply, but it really is important. I hope this helped.
