The enlarged lymph nodes are sometimes mistakenly thought to be lipomas. But they are very different. Lymph nodes are a part of body's immune system and can sometimes swollen in case of an infection. Lymph nodes are commonly located in certain areas of the body like in the neck, under the chin, in the armpits and in the groin. It is usually the first indication of the presence of an infection. Fever and discharge will follow if the infection persists.
