I had a fast growing lipoma in my upper shoulder. It doubled in size in a little over one year.
They ended up removing it but did not do an ultra sound or MRI before removing it which surprised me. When the doctor opened me up it was much deeper then he thought, near my fascia. He then continued to find tentacles all around the lipoma. He ended up having a palm full of them.
I searched online and can't find anything about lipomas having tentacles. Has anyone else heard of this? The pathology report came back fine but it still worries me especially since he did not do a MRI.
Should I be concerned?
I also now have a seroma when my lipoma was removed. Anyone else experience this? Thanks!

Re: Lipoma Tentacles?
How many inches was the lipoma? When something big is removed the body will tend to collect fluid (needing to put drains). That's why you'd want to remove it when it's smaller...
Were you awake or did you see the excised lipoma?
