Re: Lipomas in Animals
In reading about " Lipomas and Animals " I did not see one clear answer to any question. I didn't read all, but enough to see that i will have to look else where for the answer's to question's clearly asked. I did notice you redirecting the question with a question??? Can you answer that?

Hi jen,
Of course you are free to go elsewhere but the reason for lack of answers is because there are few.
This site is about lipomas and related illnesses. Whether they are on animals or human beings makes no difference to me.
If you did not find answers to your questions then why not drop some of them here to see if someone here could provide an answer or at least more information what you'' probably find elsewhere?

So far you have not asked any real question concerning lipomas thus I can't even try to help you.

Re: Lipomas in Animals
I've seen posts from animal vets saying fatty tumors are from food with corn, wheat, rice and soy. I don't have the link though. It is defiantly NOT inbreeding. That's ridiculous.

Dogs hump a lot of stuff. I've heard there might be relationship between masturbation, and lipomas. As a Guy, I masturbate often, lol, thus dogs hump a lot of shit...
Coincidence?? ha ha..

Re: Lipomas in Animals
As someone who has worked with animals (cats and dogs) since 1991 as a groomer, in veterinary clinics and in my own shop, I can tell you that a lot of dogs get lipomas. I have yet to see one in a cat. Lipomas occur in dogs as they get older. I personally owned a Brittany and she was loaded with them when she was older, she ate store bought food (not good quality) and our leftovers, this was back in the 80's.
I currently have a Doberman who started growing lipomas a couple of years ago, she is 10 now. I know that lipomas are seen in some breeds more than others. She has eaten a raw diet from birth and has had minimal vaccinations. My Jack Russell Terrier is 16 and he has none.
Interesting thread, thank you!
